The Other Side of the Coin - Feel a Fear by Seegan-Nexus
The Other Side of the Coin - Feel a Fear
There are times when I look or hear something and it just awakens something in me.  Sometimes it's happiness, other times it's sadness, and sometimes it's even rage.  Though the one that leaves the highest impression on my mind is the impulse to lash out and destroy.  I'm sure everyone has had a moment like this at least once in their life, and I thank the heavens that most are smart enough not to follow through on these dark thoughts.  Creation and destruction, light and darkness, order and chaos, positive emotions and negative emotions... two sides of the same coin that we know as humanity.  I have always been interested in the duality of things like these themes, so you could say that this piece was my way of exploring them!  Maybe one day I'll write a sequel to this piece that deals with the lighter side of human nature.  I'll have to see where my imagination takes me.

This number was largely the result of me getting inspiration from listening to a particularly heavy piece of instrumental rock.  It's the theme of a character from a fighting game series called Guilty Gear which has been known for its INSANELY good soundtrack.  Those who look at the title and know the series will instantly know who I am talking about.  Bonus points to those who know!  ^^

I appreciate any constructive criticism or praise, as it'll help inspire me to write more material!  Hope you guys enjoy!

Hey guys, how's it going?  Germany is going great so far!  I'm doing well with my host family, I made a whole bunch of friends in school, and I've gotten much better at the language (mostly practical speech, none of the extremely complicated things they teach you in school).  I'm also very excited right now because it's the Fall Break right now, and that means that something very important to me is coming up: my Berlin trip.

It's going to be an awesome trip in my mind.  There's so much to do and so much I can choose from, but I only got two days to do it all.  I'm really looking forward to all of the fun experiences I'll most likely have during this time, especially visiting places like the Pergumon Museum, seeing the sights and the culture, and most especially seeing a live concert of one of my most favorite bands: The Parov Stelar Band.  I'll definitely have something to write about when I get back, so look forward to a new journal in a week or so.

Now let's get to something a little more dA related...

I've been doing a lot of thinking really.  Most of it was on my current work that I did with the Chronicles of Aether.  The only thing I could really say when I look back at my previous chapters is this:  I don't like it.

It's not that I hate the plot, I actually like it, but the way I presented the characters and their personalities made them surprisingly flat in my mind, and some of the characters were presented in a light which didn't appeal to me at all.  So therefore, I'm going to just clear my mind and do a yet another try from the beginning.

They say that a writer's harshest critic is her/himself, and I agree with that statement completely, but I think that this is something I must do for the story.  Otherwise, I'd feel like I would lose all of my motivation to continue the story and leave it unfinished, which is something that wouldn't sit well with me.

So, let's hope that this new try works out, and maybe in January you'll see a new and improved rewriting of the Chronicles of Aether.

This is Seegan Nexus signing out!  Until next time!
